{"id":30061,"date":"2018-06-25T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2018-06-24T22:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gondola-medical.com\/news\/la-riabilitazione-parkinson-con-il-dispostivo-gondola\/"},"modified":"2025-11-19T16:52:06","modified_gmt":"2025-11-19T15:52:06","slug":"parkinsons-rehabilitation-with-the-gondola-device","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gondola-medical.com\/en\/news\/parkinsons-rehabilitation-with-the-gondola-device\/","title":{"rendered":"Parkinson's rehabilitation with the GONDOLA device"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It's back to talking about <a href=\"\/it\/gondola-home-device\/\">GONDOLA<\/a> on Telecolor (digital terrestrial channel 18), during the program Health Laboratory.<\/p>\n<p>This episode discussed Parkinson's rehabilitation in particular with Dr. Stefano Tassin, creator of GONDOLA, and Dr. Maurizio Gilardi, physical therapist and head of the HISO center in Milan.<\/p>\n<p>Initially, there was a brief discussion of this disabling condition and how the age is declining steadily and alarmingly.<\/p>\n<h2>Parkinson's and what it entails<\/h2>\n<p>Parkinson's disease impairs the neurons involved in the production and management of dopamine, a neurotransmitter involved in movement, this leads the body to \u201ceconomize\u201d on energy, to place more importance on more vital movements, such as breathing, swallowing at the expense of others such as walking.<\/p>\n<p>These disorders go a long way in impacting the patient's life, both in daily activities, social life (patients often have shame or difficulty being with other people because of their symptoms) and work (it may happen that because of symptoms patients are unable to perform their tasks adequately and have to give up going to work), and their families who care for the Parkinsonian.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u00abParkinson's is a disease that does not take years from life, but life from years.\u00bb<span style=\"font-size: revert;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a class=\"openContact\" href=\"#contacts\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\">CONTACT US AND FIND OUT HOW AMPS THERAPY CAN HELP YOU<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>How the GONDOLA device works<\/h2>\n<p>The treatment consists of stimulation of two key points to reactivate this type of movement:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"text\">The head of the big toe: the farthest point of the body and which serves to relearn how long we are in space;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"text\">The base of the first metatarsal, the sesamoid: which serves for the initiative of our stride, in fact the first thing we do when walking is to abduct the big toe.
